AD/PD 2023 | Importance of the patient voice in clinical trials

Emma Lane, PhD, Cardiff University, Cardiff, UK, explains the critical importance of the patient voice in the development and conduction of clinical trials to ensure their experience is positive and to encourage a more diverse intake of participants. It is important to not just look at individual experiences, but also the collective experience to support those hesitant to be involved in trials. There is a diverse community of people living with Parkinson’s disease and we must ensure that processes are in place to understand their experiences, to cater to the range of individuals involved. This interview took place at the AD/PD™ 2023 congress in Gothenburg, Sweden.
