AAN 2021 | Migraine is one of the principal causes of disability worldwide

Susan Hutchinson, MD, Orange County Migraine & Headache Center, Irvine, CA, comments on the last Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors study in which migraine was top-ranked. According to this study, migraine affects over 1 billion people worldwide and is one of the most common disabling conditions that individuals can experience over the course of their lives. Despite that, Dr Hutchinson mentions that many treatments are being developed, and her goal is to help patients live well and improve disease burden. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
