HDSA 2022 | Huntington’s Disease Society of America research funding programs

For decades, the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) has supported scientific research, providing resources and funding nationally, as well as establishing a network of more the 50 Huntington’s disease (HD) centers of excellence. Arik Johnson, PsyD, Huntington’s Disease Society of America, introduces the research funding programs supported by the HDSA. The HD Human Biology Project provides funding to researchers studying the disease in humans or investigating interventions to improve quality of life for patients. The Berman-Topper Family HD Career Development Fellowship funds postdoctoral researchers planning for a career in HD research. Finally, The Donald A. King Summer Research Fellowship provides financial support for undergraduate students to undertake summer placements to help foster the next generation of HD researchers. Beyond direct support, the HDSA also collaborates with industry partners and provides research communication for the HD community. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Neurology (VJNeurology).
