World Sleep 2022 | The autonomic symptoms and manifestations of post-acute COVID syndrome

Mitchell Miglis, MD, Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA, discusses autonomic symptoms and manifestations of post-acute COVID syndrome, drawing focus on a small pilot study investigating autonomic dysfunction in these patients. Dr Miglis highlights some of the autonomic features that have been observed, including tachycardia, new-onset hypertension, and small fiber neuropathy. Dr Miglis then mentions the need to better understand the underlying mechanisms of these symptoms, as well as the aims of some current studies in this area. This interview took place during the World Sleep Congress 2022.
