Martin Brodie, MD, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK, discusses the relevance of outcomes of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and real-world studies to epilepsy care. Prof. Brodie considers that for the treatment of epilepsy patients, real-world studies based on everyday clinical practice are more valuable than RCTs. However, without the RCTs, there wouldn’t be data available to allow the approval of drugs and consequently their use in clinical practice. This interview was conducted during the 2022 World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) meeting.
