Gordian J. Hubert, MD, Academic Teaching hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, Munich, Germany, comments on the use of telemedicine to improve the quality of stroke care for patients in rural areas with limited access to specialized services. The TEMPiS (Telemedic Pilot Project for Integrative Stroke Care) telestroke network was founded in 2003, aiming to provide community hospitals with telemedical support from academic stroke centers to improve acute stroke care for patients living in non-urban areas. As well as telestroke services, TEMPiS has focused on providing training and education and conducting quality assessments in local hospitals. This interview took place at European Stroke Organisation Conference 2022 in Lyon, France.
