AAN 2021 | Update on the OVERCOME study

Susan Hutchinson, MD, Orange County Migraine & Headache Center, Irvine, CA, gives an update on the ongoing OVERCOME study of migraine. The first analysis was based on a group of patients that had a more disabled migraine (MIDAS score ≥ 6), looking at three steps to have a successful treatment: see the healthcare provider/neurologist; get the correct diagnosis of migraine; appropriate medicine prescription (not a narcotic or opioid). Dr Hutchinson comments on the unmet need in the field and the importance of educational campaigns for patients and primary care providers. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
