Celia Oreja-Guevara, MD, PhD, University Hospital San Carlos, Madrid, Spain, discusses the results of research investigating the effect of multiple sclerosis (MS) in mothers on pregnancy and newborn outcomes. No significant difference was found in the head circumference, weight, height, or malformation rate between newborns of healthy mothers and newborns of MS mothers; the malformation rate in the MS cohort was 4%. These results should alleviate stress caused to women with MS due to concerns surrounding pregnancy. This interview took place during the European Academy of Neurology 2021 congress.
