MDS 2022 | Wearable technology in Parkinson’s disease

Esther Cubo Delgado, MD, PhD, FAAN, Hospital General Yague, Burgos, Spain, discusses the growing interest in objectively measuring disease-related outcomes using wearable devices. Wearable technology has the potential to measure motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Although these platforms can provide personally and clinically meaningful endpoints and milestones to inform advances in research, including in clinical trials, there isn’t a gold standard of the best definition for these wearable technology measurements. This interview took place at the 2022 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Madrid, Spain.
