MDS 2021 | Developments in DBS at MDS 2021

Andrea Kühn, MD, PhD, Charité – University Medicine Berlin, Berlin, Germany, gives an overview of new developments in deep brain stimulation (DBS) to be discussed at the MDS 2021 virtual congress. A major area of excitement is the use of lesion network mapping to maximize the efficacy of DBS and minimize side effects. Prof. Kühn describes ongoing work to develop connectomic-based neuromodulation that can target specific networks to modulate abnormal activity. This interview took place during the 2021 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders.
