CONy 2020 | Treating pediatric neuropsychiatric conditions with DBS

Keyoumars Ashkan, MB BCh, MD, MRCP, FRCS, FRCP, FRCPS, FRCPath, FRCS, King’s College London, London, UK, discusses treating childhood movement and psychiatric disorders with deep brain stimulation (DBS). Although there is a limited amount of data, DBS targeting both movement and psychiatric symptoms has shown beneficial. There are also ethical considerations to be made, therefore pediatricians, psychiatrists and neurosurgeons should be involved. This interview took place during the Virtual World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) 2020.
