Caroline Pot, MD, Lausanne University, Center for Research in Neuroscience, Lausanne, Switzerland, talks on the implementation of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in routine practice in multiple sclerosis (MS). Clinical examinations and the EDSS score are the tools mainly used to assess disease progression and disability, but they do not represent all the aspects the patients are experiencing. Hence, clinical studies increasingly use PROs to include the patient’s perspective. However, the implementation of PROs into clinical practice comes with challenges. Strategies to ease the integration of PROs include involving patients in the elaboration of the questionnaires, using electronic tools, and having PROs tailored to the patient’s characteristics. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) 2022 Congress in Vienna, Austria.
