Zvezdan Pirtosek, MD, PhD, Ljubljana University Medical Centre, Ljubljana, Slovenia, shares upcoming treatments for Parkinson’s disease. New drug delivery systems are under development, particularly for levodopa to improve its bioavailability. Also, sublingual apomorphine will offer a novel and effective therapy developed to treat ‘off’ episodes. Studies looking at non-dopaminergic systems will also contribute to the development of new treatment strategies for Parkinson’s disease. This interview was conducted during the virtual 2021 World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy).
