CONy 2020 | The advantages of deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease

Abdelhamid Benazzouz, PhD, Bordeaux University, Bordeaux, France, discusses the benefits of deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease. Now there are criteria to identify the patients who will benefit most from DBS. With over 25 years of experience, DBS works well and is a stable treatment or motor and the majority of non-motor symptoms. Therefore, in comparison to other treatments, DBS is the preferred choice. This interview took place during the Virtual World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) 2020.
