Michael Oshinsky, PhD, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, discusses the highlights from AHS. This meeting exemplified the excitement around recent progress in the understanding of headache biology – having the research community work closely together to create a network of studies leading off the back of one another. Concerning patient advocacy groups, there were multiple groups brought together by common goals in the headache research community. Dr Oshinsky further mentions that with no single silver bullet for migraine, patients should be encouraged to explore different treatment options through different physicians if pain relief is not apparent. This interview took place at the 2022 American Headache Society (AHS) Annual Scientific Meeting in Denver, CO.
