WCN 2021 | Predicting early neurological deterioration of presumed ischemic origin following recanalization

Jan Gralla, MD, Inselspital, University Hospital Bern, Bern, Switzerland, outlines novel methods to predict early neurological deterioration of presumed ischemic origin (ENDi) following intravenous thrombolysis (IVT). Using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), it is possible to predict patient outcomes and select patients that will benefit from recanalization. The fully automated stroke tissue estimation using the random forest classifiers (FASTER) program allows the prediction of outcomes for both recanalized and unrecanalized patients. This interview took place during the XXV World Congress of Neurology.
