WCN 2021 | Personalized treatment in multiple sclerosis

Giancarlo Comi, MD, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy, talks on the importance of selecting the most appropriate treatment for each individual patient with multiple sclerosis (MS). With an increasing amount of effective disease-modifying drugs available to treat MS, it is essential to consider all the available information coming from different clinical tests to choose the treatment and the dose that will benefit a patient the most. Today, numerous factors enable us to predict both the evolution of a patient’s disease and their response to different treatments. Prof. Comi emphasizes the central role of the patient in treatment decisions, highlighting the importance of informing the patient about side effects. This interview took place during the XXV World Congress of Neurology.
