AHS 2022 | Significance of AI in migraine classification

Mahfuzur Rahman Siddiquee, MD, Arizona State University, Phoenix, AZ, discusses the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) in migraine classification. The purpose of utilizing AI technology for deep learning in migraine was not to fully automate and redefine how clinicians diagnose patients but to act as a supportive tool in validating the clinical decision-making process. This technology allows for an automated analysis of which brain regions differ between migraine patients and healthy controls – removing the potential for human error. This interview took place during the 2022 American Headache Society (AHS) Annual Scientific Meeting in Denver, CO.
