FENS 2020 | Stress granules and stress-driven tau pathology

Chronic stress and elevated glucocorticoid levels trigger the accumulation of various RNA-binding proteins stimulating the induction of stress granules and Tau aggregation. Ioannis Sotiropoulos, PhD, Medical School, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, discusses the results of the study that demonstrated that when the formation of the stress granules is blocked, the effect of stress and Tau aggregation is attenuated. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Neurology (VJNeurology).
