AAN 2021 | MOG antibody seropositivity in a multi-ethnic population

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) is a recently described inflammatory, demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system (CNS) similar to neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) in terms of clinical phenotype. Anthony Traboulsee, MD, University of British Columbia Hospital, Vancouver, Canada, talks on a study of the clinical and radiological characteristics of patients with MOG antibody seropositivity at the University of British Columbia multiple sclerosis/NMOSD clinic. 42 patients were identified, most commonly presenting with optic neuritis and myelitis. Abnormal brain imaging was seen in most patients, including cortical encephalitis and subcortical and infratentorial lesions. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
