EEC 2022 | Who may benefit most from ultra-long-term EEG seizure monitoring?

Jonas Duun-Henriksen, PhD, UNEEG medical A/S, Lillerød, Denmark, shares insights on the populations most likely to benefit from ultra-long-term subcutaneous EEG monitoring for their epilepsy. There are several scenarios which make it difficult for patients to keep accurate self-reported seizure diaries, including focal impaired awareness or the occurrence of nocturnal seizures. In these cases where current monitoring practices provide an inaccurate picture of a patient’s seizure burden, objective seizure counts with EEG may aid in epilepsy management. This interview took place at the 14th European Epilepsy Congress (EEC) 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland.
