Neurological complications of SARS-CoV-2 infection have been described since the earliest reports of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, lots more data has emerged on the acute neurological manifestations of COVID-19, but major knowledge gaps continue to hinder progress. Sherry Chou, MD, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA, talks on the greatest questions remaining in the field. Dr Chou discusses the importance of understanding the prevalence of neurological symptoms and the prognosis of patients with these complications, both short-term outcomes and long-term recovery. Unsurprisingly, the cause of neurological involvement is the most substantial uncertainty, as without clear understanding, finding effective therapies will be challenging. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
