MDS 2021 | The future of Parkinson’s disease: what’s to come?

Chin-Hsien Lin, MD, PhD, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, shares her thoughts on the most exciting future developments in Parkinson’s disease (PD). Dr Lin highlights the introduction of targeted therapies as a major goal in the field that would revolutionize PD management. Developing treatments that target the underlying causes of disease could help to slow disease progression, rather than managing symptoms alone. Dr Lin highlights the urgency of advancing treatment options in PD in our aging society. This interview took place during the 2021 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders.
