MDS 2020 | Deep brain stimulation as an effective treatment for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia and tremor

Elena Moro, MD, PhD, CHU Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble, France, discusses treatment for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia and tremor. Research indicates that deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an effective treatment that should not be delayed and has limited side effects. However, the effects of long-term use are currently unknown and new technologies like focused ultrasound could prove more effective. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Neurology (VJNeurology).
