ESOC 2022 | Revising protocols to expedite workflow in acute stroke

Gordian J. Hubert, MD, Academic Teaching hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, Munich, Germany, shares an overview of current efforts to optimize stroke workflow and accelerate time to thrombectomy. As well as pre-hospital management, investigators are looking into ways to speed up in-hospital processes, such as direct transfer to angiography suites for patients with suspected large vessel occlusion stroke. Transfer protocols are being also revised to improve access to thrombectomy for patients living in rural areas distant from comprehensive stroke centers. This interview took place at European Stroke Organisation Conference 2022 in Lyon, France.
