AAN 2021 | Unmet needs in Parkinson’s disease dementia

Meredith Bock, MD, University of California, San Francisco, CA, talks on the greatest unmet needs in Parkinson’s disease (PD) that should be major focuses of research in the coming years. Dr Bock highlights the importance of identifying biomarkers in PD to enable a move towards a precision medicine approach to treatment. Additionally, PD dementia remains an incurable disease that is not well understood. Research into the underlying biology of the disease is important, as well as optimization of symptom management and support for patients and caregivers. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
