Research into minor stroke relatively new. Key decisions in the management of minor stroke can have significant impacts of clinical outcomes and quality of life, yet the optimal work-up and appropriate interventions remain incompletely elucidated. For acute treatment, the value of intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular intervention remains controversial. The minor stroke patient population has typically been excluded from major intervention trials, leading to a lack of evidence. Secondary prevention strategies include the use of antiplatelet agents and ongoing research aims to determine optimal approaches. Andy Lim, MBBS, Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, comments on the importance of refining minor stroke management and exploring treatment options and outcome predictors to reduce disability and recurrence. This interview took place at European Stroke Organisation Conference 2022 in Lyon, France.
