Nina Schor, MD, PhD, FAAN, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Bethesda, MD, discusses the necessary efforts to expedite progress in neurology following the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic hindered the generation of sufficient preliminary data for either initial applications or renewals of existing applications. Therefore, deadlines will have to be extended, particularly for junior investigators who face windows of eligibility for certain grant mechanisms.
