ACTRIMS 2022 | The importance of the MS prodrome in early diagnosis

Mitzi Joi Williams, MD, Joi Life Wellness Group, Smyrna, GA, describes the significance of the multiple sclerosis (MS) prodrome in diagnosing MS. The prodromal phase in patients may involve increased symptoms 5-10 years before MS, including more frequent visits to healthcare professionals which may be exacerbated by co-morbidities such as anxiety and depression. In order to optimize early diagnosis of MS, further research is required to fully characterize the MS prodrome. This interview took place at the ACTRIMS Forum 2022 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
