Joanna Wardlaw, CBE, MD, FRCP, FRSE, FMedSci, University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK, talks on updates in the hemorrhagic stroke field that will be shared at the ESOC 2021 meeting. Prof. Wardlaw notes the importance of prioritizing research into hemorrhagic stroke, an area which has seen less rapid development than ischemic stroke. New information will be shared at ESOC 2021 that addresses questions of how best to deal with patients in the acute phase and best practices for secondary prevention, particularly regarding the use of anticoagulant drugs.
