AAN 2021 | Integrated care and self-management for Parkinson’s disease

Tiago Mestre, MD, MSC, The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada, discusses the Integrated Parkinson’s disease Care Network (IPCN), a network developed in Ottawa to optimize integrated care and self-management support in Parkinson’s disease (PD). The IPCN was developed to break silos in the healthcare system, improve technology-enabled care and increase resource accessibility. Feasibility assessments have suggested the network is impactful and sustainable. Dr Mestre also introduces the iCARE-PD project, which is validating an integrated community-centered care delivery model across the globe. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
