AAN 2021 | Can telemedicine replace in-person visits?

Amy Guzik, MD, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC, discusses the expansion of telemedicine during the COVID-19 pandemic. Reimbursement extension at the beginning of the pandemic allowed to conduct more routine outpatient visits. Although it has been a considerable success, Dr Guzik highlights the challenges to the successful implementation of telemedicine for it to replace in-person visits post-pandemic.
