AAN 2022 | Research developments in exercise interventions for patients with epilepsy

Jane B. Allendorfer, PhD, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, AL, discusses the recent developments in research surrounding exercise and patients with epilepsy. Currently, there is a drive to overcome the barriers preventing patients from engaging in exercise, such as patient confidence and accessibility. Due to advances in remote technology, there is particular emphasis on home and remote interventions for patients that are unable to access research facilities. Further research is needed in this area to assess its feasibility and efficacy for epilepsy patients. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology 2022 Congress in Seattle, WA.
