Ermelinda De Meo, MD, University Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan, Italy, discusses her work on early predictors of long-term disability in pediatric multiple sclerosis (MS) patients presented at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting. The study evaluated 123 pediatric MS patients and obtained clinical and MRI data at disease onset and following the first two years of disease. Dr De Meo explains the baseline predictive features identified and their role in the long-term clinical outcomes of these patients. In the future, these predictive features can be used to change the treatment strategy.
