ECTRIMS 2022 | Limitations of MS treatment guidelines

Eva Kubala Havrdová, MD, PhD, General University Hospital, Charles University, Prague, Czechia, discusses the treatment consensus and controversy surrounding complex patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Although existing guidelines cover early diagnosis and switching strategies when the disease is not under control, there is a complex patient population that does not fit into the current treatment guidelines. Hence it is important to adopt treatment strategies based on patient factors for better prognosis rather than depending on the existing guidelines. This interview took place at the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) Congress 2022 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
