CONy 2022 | The effects of forced displacement on mental health in individuals

Tala Al Rousan, MD, MPH, University of California, San Diego, CA, provides an overview of her research assessing the effects of forced migration on the mental health of individuals. As there are an increasing number of people being displaced from their homes as a result of homelessness or climate change, investigating their brain health is necessary. Studies supported by the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) will aim to elucidate the link between displacement-induced stress and the physical and emotional health of people affected by forced migration. This interview was conducted during the 2022 World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) meeting.
