Sleep is an essential element of human life, however, there are still many unanswered questions surrounding the relationship between the brain and sleep. Logan Schneider, MD, Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, CA, discusses how sleep relates to neurologic health and neurologic diseases. Dr Schneider shares exciting discoveries that have improved the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of sleep and wake states and highlights the importance of defining and optimizing sleep health.
