Christian Gerloff, MD, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany, talks on the impact of technological advancements on neurostimulation for stroke recovery. Growth in the deep brain stimulation (DBS) field is largely attributable to improving technology, including multisegmented electrodes, new stimulation protocols, and closed loop stimulation techniques. Prof. Gerloff also highlights small implantable devices as a promising area for development. This interview took place at the European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC), 2021.
