AHS 2022 | Future steps in utilizing novel AI tools for migraine

Chia-Chun Chiang, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, discusses the future steps in utilizing the novel artificial intelligence (AI) tools for improving the quality of life of patients with migraine. A great focus is on developing prediction models for treatment responses; with the array of different migraine preventive therapies, there are currently no clinical or biological features that can tell clinicians how a patient will respond to treatment. The difficulty surrounding the trial-and-error process of determining suitability for treatment can prove frustrating to the patient and clinician. Therefore, recent computer technology advancements can help identify clinical predictors associated with treatment response to different medications. This interview took place during the 2022 American Headache Society (AHS) Meeting in Denver, CO.
