CONy 2022 | The impact of COVID-19 on palliative care in Parkinson’s disease

Angelo Antonini, MD, PhD, University of Padua, Padua, Italy, describes difficulties caregivers have faced in terms of look after patients with Parkinson’s disease during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of COVID-19, caregivers themselves may have been infected and thus not have not been able to give sufficient care to their counterparts, especially during the early stages of the pandemic when there were no vaccines. This subsequently reduced the quality of life for patients, where access to medications may additionally have been reduced. This interview was conducted during the 2022 World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) meeting.
