WCN 2021 | Gut dysbiosis in Parkinson’s disease

Brit Mollenhauer, MD, University Medical Center Göttingen, Göttingen, Germany, talks on our current understanding of altered gut microbiome composition in Parkinson’s disease (PD). Numerous papers have demonstrated that leaky gut syndrome is often observed in PD patients. Additionally, analyses of fecal samples from patients with PD have shown an abundance of mucus-digesting bacteria. This interview took place during the XXV World Congress of Neurology.
