Cynthia Comella, MD, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL, discusses the challenge of diagnosing movement disorders that are heterogeneous and where to direct investigation. Being able to distinguish dystonic tremor and essential tremor as well as different parkinsonisms is important for an accurate diagnosis. Therefore, education is paramount which can be achieved through congresses like the MDS Annual Congress. Prof. Comella also emphasizes the importance of continued research, which due to COVID-19 has been impaired.
