AAN 2022 | The mission of NINDS and current initiatives

Nina Schor, MD, PhD, FAAN, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Bethesda, MD, outlines the mission and vision of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). NINDS’ mission is to fund and perform research to increase knowledge about the brain and nervous system and to use that knowledge to reduce the burden of neurological disease for all people. Various initiatives are underway, such as the BRAIN Initiative®, the HEAL Initiative, and the ADRD Initiative.
