IHC 2021 | Key updates on pediatric and adolescent headache practice guidelines

Andrew Hershey, MD, PhD, FAHS, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH, gives updates on guidelines in pediatric and adolescent headache practice. Prof. Hershey highlights the importance of updating these guidelines due to a lack of evidence and approved treatments in pediatric and adolescent headaches. Key updates include how to conduct preventative studies in children and adolescents and a revision of the previous guidelines on the acute and preventive treatment of headaches. Prof. Hershey also acknowledges that there are still gaps in the research done around this topic. This interview took place during the International Headache Congress 2021.
