MDS 2022 | Suboptimal Parkinson’s disease control: motor fluctuations

Per Odin, MD, PhD, Lund University, Lund, Sweden, outlines management strategies to improve the care of patients with suboptimal Parkinson’s disease control. The development of motor fluctuations, including “”off”” fluctuations and dyskinesia, is one of the many ways suboptimal disease control can manifest. Adjusting the dose of levodopa is an approach to minimize or avoid fluctuations. However, with time the management of motor fluctuations and dyskinesias becomes more challenging. This interview took place at the 2022 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Madrid, Spain.
