MDS 2021 | DBS as a treatment for dystonia

Andrea Kühn, MD, PhD, Charité – University Medicine Berlin, Berlin, Germany, talks on the role of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in dystonia treatment. Large scale trials have shown DBS treatment to be successful, particularly for generalized or segmental dystonia, but also focal dystonia. Analyses have revealed that younger patients with a shorter disease duration show the best responses. This interview took place during the 2021 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders.
