World Sleep 2022 | The current state of knowledge in brain changes in patients with iRBD

In this video, Shady Rahayel, PhD, Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, McGill University, Montreal, Canada, briefly explains the current state of knowledge in brain changes in patients with isolated REM sleep behavior disorder (iRBD). Dr Rahayel first describes the characteristics observed in patients with iRBD, most of which will progress to Parkinson’s disease or dementia with Lewy bodies. Dr Rahayel then explains that while there is a lot known about brain changes in iRBD, knowledge gaps must be filled, including the need to better understand brain atrophy and perfusion in these diseases. This interview took place during the World Sleep Congress 2022 in Rome, Italy.
