AAN 2021 | Managing pediatric MS in the current era

Tanuja Chitnis, MD, FAAN, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, discusses the management of pediatric multiple sclerosis (MS) in the current era, with a growing number of effective therapeutic options becoming available. Dr Chitnis notes the recent approval of fingolimod in the pediatric setting, as well as ongoing trials of teriflunomide, dimethyl fumarate, and infusion-based therapies. The importance of clear discussion with patients and their families to optimize one’s individual treatment regime is highlighted.
