AAN 2021 | Management of COVID-19 respiratory complications to avoid intubation

John Bach, MD, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ, discusses the intubation criteria for patients with COVID-19. The intubation and the tracheostomy procedures have a high risk of infection with highly pathogenic bacteria. Dr Bach proposes criteria for the management of incubation and removal of invasive tubes from COVID-19 patients. The goal is to minimize the need and/or time of intubation. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
