Jan Claassen, MD, PhD, Columbia University Medical Center, New York, NY, explains the ictal interictal continuum (IIC) and its treatment options. IIC is an abnormal pattern in the electroencephalogram (EEG), although it is not clinically considered a seizure. The treatment for this condition is under debate.
